Understanding health and beauty starts by understanding the importance of a good base or canvas to work from. The skin is an extremely important part of your body, and good health and beauty starts with a healthy skin. But getting that great looking skin is not always easy and billions of dollars are spent annually to find that hidden secret to perfect looking skin.

 

However, healthy skin is actually easy!

 

Biology does play an important part in how your skin looks and feels. While you cannot change your genetics or biology, you can give it a push in the right direction. Our skin is the part of our bodies we always show to the outside world. We want it to look great. However, a healthy body actually starts with healthy skin.

 

Health and beauty are closely connected. If you are healthy, your skin is naturally beautiful. However, genetics or biology can step in and remind us that sometimes forces are against us. As we age, we definitely notice the change in our skin. Often, our skin loses its elasticity and pliability. It is our responsible to find methods to insure our skin regains that youthful appearance given us by pliability and strength.

 

The first step in insuring the health and beauty of our skin is to clean it properly. There are numerous “guaranteed” ways of cleaning our skin if you listen to those infomercials. However, whatever method works best for you will suffice. Just make sure you cleanse your skin with a mild soap or wash that will fit your lifestyle. This can be expensive or it can be cheap according to what works for you.

 

If you have dry skin, moisturize! Moisturizing insures your skin has elasticity and pliability. Dry skin can crack and actually be painful. A good moisturizer will be one that fits your skins needs while remaining within your budget. If you have allergies, be sure to check the ingredients list. Of course, you may even have moisturizer best suits for a variety of body parts such as one for your face and one for your body.

 

Melanoma is on the rise, and as such, it is vital you always wear a sun protection when outside regardless of temperature or weather conditions. Regardless of your skin type, age, gender, socioeconomic status, or genetics, protecting yourself and your children means always wearing a sun protection lotion of SPF 15 or higher. In addition, you should wear lip protection with the SPF 15 or higher too. There are no two “rays” about it – to stay safe, use SPF lotion!

 

Finally, one of the best way you can insure the health and beauty of your skin is to eat and drink the right way. Always drink plenty of fresh water, and eat protein. Carbs are a no no for healthy skin. Water is actually the best gift you can give your skin. When you become dehydrated, your skin is the first to feel it and show it. Stay safe by drinking lots of water and avoiding sugars.

 

When it comes to having the best in health and beauty, your skin is the key. Play it safe! Stay protected in the sun and drink a lot of good fresh water.
