Effects of Pure Essential Oils Explored

 

Use of aromatherapy is not a new concept by any means, but in the last decade, aromatherapy has definitely increased in popularity. While a lot of clinical testing on the benefits of pure essential oils has not been completed, based on evidence and looking at historical usage for many herbs, conclusions can be drawn that support specific properties often utilized in aromatherapy.

 

Pure essential oils are generally compounded from a variety of herbs or flowers. The purity is important to insure what you receive is genuinely what it claims to be and not just a base scented to smell or look like what you are wanting. Of course, with so many options available, it is important to realize some of the common qualities and what you can look for to achieve those properties.

 

What pure essential oils have anti-viral properties?

 

Dalmatian Sage, lavender, tea tree, manuka, thymes, elemi, cassia, peppermint, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus radiata, black pepper, lemon, and myrrh are just a few herbs and plants believed to have anti-viral properties. While some of these are safe for skin contact, many others are not safe when in contact with human skin. Using a nebulizing diffuser would be a better mode of transport for the benefits.

 

What pure essential oils have anti-fungal properties?

 

Tea tree, myrrh, cedar wood, tagetes, lavandin, lemon, and eucalyptus are all reported to have exceptional anti-fungal properties. Tea tree can actually be used to help with toenail fungus when used consistently. In addition, these can be placed in diffusers to add the properties to the air such as in a closet or laundry room. Even as an air freshener, these can combat mold and other fungi making it a safer environment.

 

What pure essential oils have anti-bacterial properties?

 

Tea tree, bay laurel, bergamot, oregano, lemongrass, black pepper, pine, lavender, cajeput, sandalwood, lemon, and clove buds are just a few of a very long list of oils with anti-bacterial properties. In fact, almost all true pure essential oils have some sort of anti-bacterial properties. However, it is important to reassert that not all forms of these are suitable for skin contact and should be used through a diffuser or nebulizer.

 

What pure essential oils have anti-stress properties?

 

Stress is a way of life for many people with increased feelings of anxiety and panic on a daily basis. Having a natural and organic method of stress free is going to provide a useful tool in combating personal stresses. Chamomile, sandalwood, cardamom, and lavender are all reported to have anti-stress properties.

 

If you want a stress-free bath, try dropping 10 drops of the pure essential oil of your choice in a warm bath and soak for a while. You can even add a few drops to the neck and rub in for a comfortable and relaxing experience.

 

When it comes to pure essential oils, you will find that you can find many benefits reported with a simple drop of oil. While this aromatherapy may be in its youth in many ways, you will enjoy the smell and the effects these organic and natural oils have on you and your life.
