Health Living Tips: Easy Exercises

One thing most of us could do a bit more of is exercise. Perhaps running a marathon is great for cardiovascular health, but the truth is that most of us get exhausted just watching a marathon or triathlon. But there are ways for you to stretch those muscles and get a nice workout without even leaving your property….

Health living starts with wanting to make a change. When you recognize that a change is necessary, you will discover it is easier to make the needed change. Healthy lifestyles translate to a healthier body, mind, and life. Nothing is better than healthy eating and exercise to improve the quality of life.

Take a few of these simple but healthy exercises…

Clean house!

While many of us do not enjoy cleaning house, a clean house is amazing. You will feel better, the house will be fresh, and you will be getting exercise. Turn on some favorite music, grab the mop, and get to work. Your body and mind will definitely appreciate the workout. This is great for adults and kids.

Plant a garden!

A garden is amazing. Gardens will ensure you get healthy, fresh foods you grew yourself. But there are many other reasons gardening is fun. You will be moving, working, and playing all at the same time. This will also help you get some vitamin D if you happen to be an indoors type of person.

Move while you sit!

Amazingly, many exercises can be turned into a sitting exercise. While watching television or browsing the internet, try lifting your arms repeatedly or even lift the legs. You will discover it is easy to live a healthy lifestyle when you are moving. Even if you are sitting, you can get the exercise you need. Nothing is better for you or your future.

Exercising You Memory & Mind

Your brain is actually a growing and learning organ. By interacting with the world around you, your brain uses action and perception as a learning tool. Stimulation of your mental acuity will actually increase brain function protecting against cognitive dysfunction often thought to be a natural sign of aging.

As a living and growing organ, the human brain is continually rewiring and adapting itself growing new neurons. Disease can cause severe mental decline, but age-related decline in motor skills and memory are most often due to inactivity and stimulation.

Use it or lose it!

Exercising your memory and mind can be as simple as getting more physical activity into your life. Research has been completed showing that those who got adequate physical activity were actually less likely to develop Alzheimer’s and dementia. The more exercise you get, the better he protection.

Physical exercise can also act as a natural anti-depressant. Walking is of course the easiest, cheapest, and most beneficial of physical activities anyone can do regardless of age. If you cannot walk due to physical disabilities, there are other options as well. Any type of cardio-vascular exercise will get the blood flowing. This means your brain will actually get more blood. This is good stuff!

Intellectual activity is important too!

Staying intellectually active can be as simple as doing puzzles, reading a book, playing cards, or even playing a favorite musical instrument. You can stay healthy physically as well as mentally staving off the “natural” signs of aging.
