Traveling With Baby Products

Traveling with baby supplies can be tedious if you are not prepared. If you are prepared, you will find you simply breeze through security. Baby products can include just about anything you use for your baby or infant from diapers to formula.

Airlines are under a lot of pressure to ensure the safety and security of passengers. Since you are carrying baby products, you are most likely traveling with a baby or infant. The first rule of thumb is give plenty of time to get through security If your child gets overly fussy, you can ask for a private screening.

Some things you may be taking with you…
  • Baby lotion, oils, and creams,
  • Stroller,
  • Portable playpen,
  • Formula, bottles, water, juices, snacks, and nipples,
  • Breast pump,
  • Medications,
  • Baby toys, stuffed animals, games,
  • Clothes,
  • Diaper bag,
  • Diapers, wipes, soiled diaper containers, changing blanket.
If you want to get your things on the airplane it is a good idea to be ready for anything. Airport security can ask to inspect anything further – even your baby. Of course, you must remain calm and ensure your children remain calm as well.

Older children should be taught that when entering the airport, it is time to be on his or her best behavior. Cranky children are understandable, but getting plenty of rest, using the restroom, and preparing are important when entering the airport.

Traveling with baby products follows the same rules as other people. All liquids should be placed in a clear bag for inspection. Do not wait for airport security to find that liquid formula at the bottom of your bag. Instead, declare all your liquids regardless of the age of the recipient.

When it is time to travel with children, you will discover it is not too difficult if you follow just a few basic, commonsense rules.

Traveling With Beauty Supplies and Make-up

Just as traveling with supplements can be challenging as explained in Monday’s post, you will also discover that traveling with beauty supplies and make-up can be a challenge. With so many regulations and those regulations varying from one airline to the other, knowing what to do with your beauty supplies and make-up can save you both time and money.

A little planning ahead goes a long way here. Just because you may be cautious when taking beauty products or make-up with you on your travels, with a little practice, you will be thinking like a frequent flyer.

What are a few ideas to keep in mind when traveling with make-up or beauty supplies?

Airlines all have differing rules concerning make-up and beauty supplies. Contact your airline to find out what specifics you should keep in mind when packing. Generally, you will find that airlines want to ensure you can travel with beauty supplies and make-up.

All liquids have to be contained in a clear, plastic bag. You can purchase these just about anywhere, and they are (thankfully) cheap to purchase. If you need more than one, I suggest you purchase a few.

One idea is to color coordinate the bags for your categories… for instance, use a clear bag with blue label for hair care products, a clear bag with yellow label for facial make-up, a clear bag with red label for shaving supplies, etc. This will help you if you need to find something fast.

Make a list of all your make-up and beauty supplies for your own reference. You would be surprised how quickly you cannot think of a brand or name when under pressure. Carrying a list is going to ensure you are at the top of your game with airport security.

Traveling With Supplements

Airport security is more stringent than ever with precautions made for about everything under the sun. If you plan on traveling via air, you will discover all kinds of regulations are in place to “keep you safe”. Traveling with supplements can be one of those things adding undo stress to any traveling arrangement unless you know what to do at the security checkpoint.

Supplements can be great for infants, children, teenagers, adults, and senior citizens. In addition, remember, a supplement can be as simply as a non-prescribed or over-the-counter cream for diaper rash. When it comes to traveling with supplements, you will want a few suggestions.

Check your supplements with your luggage

Most people prefer to check their supplements and most medications with their luggage. Some medications need to be taken aboard the aircraft, and if this is the case, be sure to bring a doctor’s note stating what medications you are currently taking and why you are taking said medication.

Checking your list, checking it twice

Supplements are no different. Bring a list with all of your supplements, what they look like, and what they treat. In addition, bring a receipt if at all possible. Myself, I even go as far as bring contact information for the supplement manufacturer. If needed, the airport security can contact the manufacturer to identify the supplement in question.

Leave supplements in original container

Do not remove your supplement from its original container. The original container will aid airport security in identifying the supplement should the need arise. In addition, you may want to even go as far as bringing fresh containers still containing the original seal.

Traveling with supplements and medication is simplistic. Do not fret if you get asked questions; be honest. By ensuring you follow these few ideas, you will find that it is easier than ever to feel good even when you travel.
