Traveling With Supplements

Airport security is more stringent than ever with precautions made for about everything under the sun. If you plan on traveling via air, you will discover all kinds of regulations are in place to “keep you safe”. Traveling with supplements can be one of those things adding undo stress to any traveling arrangement unless you know what to do at the security checkpoint.

Supplements can be great for infants, children, teenagers, adults, and senior citizens. In addition, remember, a supplement can be as simply as a non-prescribed or over-the-counter cream for diaper rash. When it comes to traveling with supplements, you will want a few suggestions.

Check your supplements with your luggage

Most people prefer to check their supplements and most medications with their luggage. Some medications need to be taken aboard the aircraft, and if this is the case, be sure to bring a doctor’s note stating what medications you are currently taking and why you are taking said medication.

Checking your list, checking it twice

Supplements are no different. Bring a list with all of your supplements, what they look like, and what they treat. In addition, bring a receipt if at all possible. Myself, I even go as far as bring contact information for the supplement manufacturer. If needed, the airport security can contact the manufacturer to identify the supplement in question.

Leave supplements in original container

Do not remove your supplement from its original container. The original container will aid airport security in identifying the supplement should the need arise. In addition, you may want to even go as far as bringing fresh containers still containing the original seal.

Traveling with supplements and medication is simplistic. Do not fret if you get asked questions; be honest. By ensuring you follow these few ideas, you will find that it is easier than ever to feel good even when you travel.

Supplements for Infants

One of our most precious commodities is our children. We protect our children, love our children, and teach our children well. Trusting just any old ingredients to our children’s body is not only something to never do, but it is downright dangerous.

How can you ensure that the supplements you give your infants is of the highest quality for their sensitive bodies?

Starting out

The first word of advice is to give your infants and toddlers nothing you would give yourself first. Another good word of advice is to speak to your child’s physician. You will find that you have to be careful of any products you put on or in your infant or toddler.

Adverse reactions can be as simple as having agitation, but at the worse, adverse affects can cause death. Be sure you know what you are giving your child!

Whom to trust

One of the best rules of thumbs when it comes to infants, children, and supplements is to trust items made in the good ol’ US of A. The FDA requires truth in the labeling. You will find that all ingredients including additives are found on the label.

Many countries such as India, China, and even Canada have products that have hidden fillers. The recent tragedy with pet food and even children’s formula is a good reason why made in the USA is so important.

What to trust

While you may not be comfortable with ingested supplements, you will find oodles of supplements for the body. One such supplement is the many types of diaper rash curative and preventative medicines on the market today.

Remember, even lotions put on the body will absorb into the body. Be sure you have the purest and best on the market.
