Essential Oil Facts

It is essential that you take care of your essential oils. Oils can turn bad and not work as well as they should if you take good care of them. Increase the chance that your essential oils will be around much longer with these easy steps.

The first step in ensuring the health of your essential oils is buying the right essential oils. Not every single essential oil is going to be created the same or equally. When you search for top of the line essential oils you will be led away from popular manufacturers that mass reproduce their oils. This does not mean you cannot find a great essential oil found in grocery stores, but there is a good chance you will want to shop at shops that specialize in essential oils.

Ensure the essential oils you purchase are in dark bottles or containers. Essential oils are extremely sensitive to light and heat. Dark bottles prove to keep essential oils in great shape.

Glass bottles and containers are also used because there are different pure essential oils that will eat away at any other type of material. When this residue gets into your essential oils, your essential oil is tainted and will not be as effective.

Avoid buying essential oils that come with a dropper with a rubber tip. Some essentials again, can eat away at the plastic.

Lastly, remember that essential oils have a shelf life. Know when you bought an essential oil. Kelly's Health wants to ensure that you have the best essential oils in tip-top shape!

Aromatherapy and Alternative Therapies

Many individuals today are choosing alternative therapies for a healthy, pain-free life. Whether going all-out in alternative therapies or using alternative therapies in combination with conventional medicine, people can easily find the middle ground that will suit their needs. There is no right way for everyone, however. You will discover your preferences through personal experience and information.

Aromatherapy is a very popular form of alternative therapy. With the combination of using your sense of smell and pure herbs, a sense of well-being and healthiness can be achieved. However, you need to ask yourself which aromatherapy is right for you?

Many individuals choose popular essential oils and other forms of aromatherapy in smelly-good scents, such as lavender, rose and orange. Other individuals may choose popular blends, such as cinnamon and apple. The type of scents you choose will depend entirely on your preferences.

Is one better than the other? Certainly not!

How "well" aromatherapy works depends on the quality of essential oils used. Using only the finest pure essential oils is essential. Oils can go bad and become rancid and that is why you will discover that the finest pure essential oils are stored in dark, glass bottles.

What is the best on the market today?

There are many, many essential oils that are extremely popular and many, many individuals are interested in aromatherapy. Your location, religion and culture will greatly influence which essential oils are popular. Vanilla is a popular choice for many individuals because it smells wonderful; however, it may be a good idea to keep lavender around the house when you are stressed.

Kelly's Health is here to provide you with the aromatherapy and alternative therapies you need. From a wide variety of essential oils to choose from, you will receive more for less. Our customer service is here to help you choose the products that are best for you. Do not hesitate to ask any questions if you need help.

Essential Oil Therapy & Body Energy

Choosing the right essential oils for aromatherapy is not hard these days, particularly due to the Internet. You will be surprised at the wealth of information that is at your fingertips simply by using a search engine such as Google or Yahoo. However, knowing what is right for you will help you save both time and money.

Many individuals believe that each living creature has energy. When our energies are low, we are more prone to illnesses, diseases and even death. When our energy is high, we are healthier and live longer.

While many people do not realize this, a cup of coffee in the morning can lower your body energy. When your energy reaches a low point, you can feel ill and poorly. Knowing how to raise your energy rather than lowering it can counteract the poor energy you face daily so that you can live a healthier life.

Did you know that a human being's body has an energy level of about 62-68 MHz? Individuals with the common cold have an average energy level of about 58 MHz. A little change in a person's energy level can make a huge difference.

Essential oils and meditation either alone or in combination can greatly raise your energy level. Rose energy is the highest energy measuring at 320 MHZ. Lavender, a very popular essential oil, has an energy of 118MHz.

Positive and negative thoughts surprisingly have an effect on your body's energy as well.

Anointment is a common practice among many religions. Anointment is most often combined with prayer and essential oil to raise the body's energy and to help ward off illness and disease. It has been around for many centuries.

Body energy is a big part of our lives; it determines how healthy we are. Kelly's Health is here to help you have the healthiest and strongest energy possible by supplying a wide range of aromatherapy and essential oils. Of course, there are many other ways in which you can raise your energy level. These are just a few of the most popular and common ways.

History of Essential Oils Therapy

Essential oil therapy, or better known as aromatherapy, uses the oil or aroma producing substance from a wide variety of plants to fight and alleviate diseases and illnesses. Essential oils can be taken from a plant's bark, leaves, stalks, rind, roots or flowers depending on the type of essential oils you are interested in.

When the oils are taken from the plant they are pure; they are added to a base or carrier substance. High quality essential oils are very popular today. Carrier oils that have been used in the past are alcohol and lotion. Once the pure essential oil is mixed with a base, the essential oil can be sprayed in the environment, such as a room, massaged on, burned as a candle or incense or placed in a bath.

Aromatherapy is not new. Aromatherapy was, in fact, used in the early 1900s. Aromatherapy works with our natural hormones, stimulating our nervous system through our nasal cavity.

This interaction between essential oils and the nervous system has shown to reduce blood pressure, depression, pulse, and many other body functions that can reduce our state of being. Aromatherapy methods can also help with pain.

Using aromatherapy is relatively safe. But you must NEVER ingest or swallow essential oils. In addition, there are also essential oils that may burn the skin. If you have any chronic conditions, you will want to consult your physician before using aromatherapy.

When combining conventional medicine and alternative therapy together, you will want to consult a physician. Often times, convention medicine and alternative therapy will clash, causing detrimental side effects. For instance, pregnant women should never use sage, juniper or rosemary because they can cause uterine contractions. If you are unsure or doubt an essential oil, contact your physician or homeopathic doctor in your area.

While Kelly's Health is not medical professionals, we are here to answer any questions you have.

Knowing Aromatherapy

There are not many popular alternative medicines out there that are as popular as aromatherapy. In fact, aromatherapy does not necessarily have to be used as an alternative source of medicine; it can simply be enjoyed when used correctly. For instance, aromatherapy can easily alleviate the common cold or can help you battle cancer. More and more individuals are turning to aromatherapy and discovering the many benefits it can bring.

Imagine how easy it is to light a candle to get rid of your depression than having to take a number of anti-depressants that are out there on the market today. It is easy to see that natural smells are much better for you than chemicals. Essential oils are a big part of aromatherapy for good reason.

Kelly's Health knows that you have questions. And we are here to answer all of your questions happily. In fact, we encourage that you ask as many questions as you need in order to receive the information that you need.

When you are looking for answers to questions that you need, whether it is about health and beauty products, essential oils, or any other type of alternative therapy, Kelly's Health wants to ensure that you are informed and up-to-date. We are not medical professionals; however, we care and understand the need for an education in aromatherapy.

The internet is wonderful because it is a source of a lot of information. The internet does have the disadvantage of being confusing at times as well. There is a wealth of information out there on any subject and sometimes it is not always accurate or right.

Finding information that conflicts with one another can definitely leave you confused. However, do keep in mind that what one person thinks is right and what another thinks is wrong is a matter of opinion. If lavender essential oil did not work for one individual, do not assume it will not work for you; everyone is different.

Remember that when you look for essential oils everyone is different. Perhaps lavender and vanilla work great on you, but orange essence does not. It all comes down to personal experience.

With rose essential oil, you are receiving that wonderful smell with each and every application. Roses are most popular in aromatherapy and offer a chance for a more youthful side.

Lavender has always been a favorite as well. Lavender is most often associated with comfort and relaxation. Regardless whether you use it for your body or your mind, lavender allows you the opportunity to enjoy every moment of your life. When dealing with aromatherapy, there are not many essential oils that are as popular as the enchanting scent of lavender.

When it comes to citrus, who does not love the fresh smells of oranges and lemons? With essential oils, you can fully enjoy the natural scent of citruses from these "real" fruits. Instead of just using cleaning products that only contain all natural citruses rather than the beverages you drink, you can fully enjoy the invigorating scents of lemons and oranges with essential oils.

Choosing Essential Oils for You

Regardless if you prefer your own mixture of essential oil or you prefer traditional essential oils, you will want to keep your oils in tip-top shape. You will want to ensure your oils look, smell and work the way they are supposed to so that you can get the most out of them. There are many popular choices such as lavender and proprietary blends, such as Child Calm. Whichever oils you choose, Kelly's Health is here to help you get the most out of your oils.

You first need to know what benefits you wish to receive from your essential oils. There are many individuals that choose their oils based on the aroma. Two of the most popular choices of these are lavender and tea tree oil. Lavender is a wonderful scent that promotes both mental clarity and spirit. Tea tree oil, on the other hand, is not as popular in the scent department because it has a strong, harsh and solid smell.

When you own great essential oils, you will want to ensure that they stay in great shape. In order to keep your oils in great shape, follow the suggestions:

-Store your essential oils in a dry and dark place. You will discover that you can hold onto your essential oils much longer when they are not exposed to sunlight. This is one of the reasons you will find that essential oils commonly come in dark bottles. When you make your own essential oils you want to store your oils in dark, nonporous bottles, such as glass.

-Every essential oil has a particular type of smell or odor. If an oil doesn't smell "right" to you, there is a good chance that it is no longer good; if this occurs, you will want to return it for a return or throw it away. While essential oils usually do not expire or go bad, the carrier oils can and are often rancid when they do. When carrier oils go bad they are no longer as effective and smell awful.

-Choose to purchase essential oils that are made in the United States; this will ensure the quality of the ingredients and the purity. The FDA requires that everything in the essential is disclosed, including additives, the oil itself and the carrier oil. Because of this requirement, you know what's in the oils you purchase and they are safe for you and your family.

Aromatherapy and Popular Modes of Transmission

Aromatherapy has been around for quite a long time. Only recently has it begun to become more and more popular as natural remedies and treatment; many individuals find that aromatherapy works great from everything from stress to even the removal of warts. There is plenty of information about aromatherapy out there; one thing for certain is that aromatherapy can positively change the quality of your life.

When it comes to aromatherapy there are four popular modes of transmission regarding aromatherapy and essential oils. Not all of these are appropriate for every type of aromatherapy or essential oils; however these are the choices that you have depending on the oil and the location you choose.

Kelly's Health is here to provide you with the information that you need to know about aromatherapy and essential oils.

Aerial Transmission
Aerial transmission usually involves the aromatherapy to stay in the air of the room or area that you choose. You can achieve this through candles, sprays and oils. This mode of transmission is the most popular and is widely associated with aromatherapy and whether to create a calming atmosphere, make an area or room smell better or to sanitize the air.

Direct Inhalation
Direct inhalation is exactly how it sounds. It means that you will be directly inhaling the aromatherapy of an essential oil. Incense and essential oils can be inhaled for many conditions. Direct inhalation can be very useful to disinfect the sinus cavity, work as a decongestant, clear the sinus cavity and even work as a de-stressor.

Topical Application
Topical Application means that aromatherapy can be applied directly to the skin. You can include aromatherapy easily while taking a bath or during a massage. Because your skin is being treated, your skin will look and feel more radiant and healthy.

Vaginal, Rectal and Oral Interfaces
Many people are not aware of this but you can directly place aromatherapy inside of your body through the vaginal, rectal and oral interfaces. Many people have their preferred method and you will find yours as well.

How to Keep Essential Oils Safe

When you own essential oils and aromatherapy, it is important to know not only how to use these oils properly, but how to store them safely as well. There are a wide variety of hints and tips out there. The more knowledge you have of these oils, the better it is for you. Kelly's Health understands the importance of knowing how to use and properly store these oils.

Depending on the oils that you own will determine how exactly it is you use them and take care of them. Most every oil and aromatherapy product has instructions. Make sure that you follow these instructions exactly! If the instructions are not provided, the internet is a great place to look. You will be able to locate the information that you need without any problems.

Certain oils are only to be used so often and on particular parts of the body. To ensure that an oil agrees with your skin, use a small amount on your leg or your foot. You will be able to tell whether or not your skin is allergic to the ingredients located in the oils.

You must also store these oils in a safe place where they will not be spilled or knocked over. Particular oils could be harmful to certain surfaces such as your wood floor or cabinets. Always store oils in a cool dry place. Ensure that the place is cool rather than too drastically cold or hot. If an oil becomes too cold or hot, it will spoil.

Never ever consume these oils either. Essential oils are meant to be topical rather than consumed. Only certain oils have been approved to be consumed such as olive oil and vegetable oil.

During pregnancy it is exceptionally vital that you consult your physician about any oils you intend to use. Your physician will be able to tell you whether or not these oils are safe for you.

Remember, using and storing your oils properly is imperative for safety reasons. Always keeps this in mind.

Aromatherapy for Kids

While aromatherapy is a wondrous addition to any life, kids sometimes need something different to ensure they are safe. There is aromatherapy for kids specifically designed for youngsters, but sometimes, you will find that you can use what you use regularly – just at a different dose.

But knowing how to get the best aromatherapy for kids does not have to be difficult or time consuming. In fact, you will find that aromatherapy specifically designed for kids can be quite pricey. The truth is that you can generally find cost effective, organic aromatherapy or essential oils for kids that is inexpensive and completely safe.

Aromatherapy can start with massage oils. Massaging a child regardless of the age is soothing. Massage builds that bond between parent and child. Using high quality, safe massage oils means knowing what you can trust when it comes to essential oils.

While Kelly’s Health has a line of essential oils for kids, you will find that you can generally utilize simple essential oils or aromatherapy you already have in the home.

Tea tree oil is an amazing antiseptic and so much more. Tea tree oil can be mixed with eucalyptus oil for an amazing decongest when added to a mister or humidifier. However, you will find putting tea tree oil directly on a scrape or cut will clear that wound up quickly.

There are combination essential oils that make exceptional baby rash preventatives and cures as well. You can depend on many of nature’s gifts to ensure your infant, child, or youngster is treated organically and naturally avoiding the need for antibiotics at a later date.

Kelly’s Health does suggest you test ALL essential oils on a small part of the child before applying directly to wounds. Some children are sensitive or allergic to things that we as adults would not consider. Always side with caution!

-- Lavender for the relaxing and comfort aroma of lavender,
-- Oranges with the enticingly clean aroma of citrus,
-- Vanilla with the mellow and sensual smells of the vanilla bean,

Relaxing music can add to the atmosphere of relaxation or invigoration, candles can give off a perfect glow, and whether you are alone or with someone special, the perfect scent can make everything feel a whole lot better.

Another great aspect of aromatherapy is that essential oils make the perfect gift. Toss some popular 100% organic essential oils in a basket with a music CD, a loofah, a candle, and/or a few tea bags and you have the perfect personal gift basket.

Alternative therapies are more popular than ever because they do work. Knowing what to choose for your needs is the key.

Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oils for Your Medicine Cabinet

Having a natural and organic method to treat infection and illness in your household means having the right types of therapeutic-grade essential oils in your medicine cabinet. Not only can therapeutic-grade essential oils fight infection, but also you will find these can smell wonderful as well making them a pleasure to have in your home.

Many therapeutic-grade essential oils have antibacterial, antimicrobial, and/or antifungal properties. These wonderful essential oils are healthy, have few side effects (if any), and your body does not build up resistances to these forms of healing and comfort – unlike antibiotics.

What are some of those therapeutic-grade essential oils that should be in your own medicine cabinet?

Oregano – Oregano is an extremely powerful immune-enhancing essential oil. Supports healthy digestive and respiratory systems. Can be used both as a dietary supplement or topical use. Try a single drop in a few ounces of liquid such as rice milk or even hot cocoa.

Clove – Clove is a wonderful addition to add to any dish for a sweet kick. Clove is actually the highest rated essential oil for boosting antioxidant levels. Great for digestive, cardiovascular, respiratory, and immune systems. Use for skin infections, bronchitis, arthritis, dental infections, skin cancer, thyroid issues and more.

Lemon – Lemon is a citrusy sweet aroma that has a strong place in our home as a medicine, pesticide, and cleaner. Great for blood pressure, anxiety, gallstones, energy, nervous conditions, and much more. Lemon is a wonderful natural antiseptic.

There are positive alternatives!

Real Grade of Essential Oils

More and more people are turning to the excellence fond in essential oils to fight everything from the dreaded MRSA and SARS to the common cold and a runny nose. Knowing what to look for when it comes to the real grade of the essential oils you use is vital.

No, not all essential oils are the same!

Technically, you will find two extreme grades complimenting each other on the spectrum of purity: perfume-grade and therapeutic-grade. The difference is like comparing a plastic doggy toy steak to a deliciously barbequed rib eye steak.

One of the reasons more people are turning to essential oils for therapeutic purposes is that they work…

One of the most dreaded infections of our times is MRSA. MRSA is so nasty because it is resistant to antibiotics. This means that our modern medicine has not found a cure, and that is why an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Needless to say, MRSA is one nasty dude.

Now enter into the equation a therapeutic-grade essential oil. These therapeutic-grade essential oils are capable of fighting such nasty infections with ease.

But why?

Therapeutic-grade essential oils are not all the same. Even if you purchase the exact same essential oil from the same manufacturer, that oil will be different due to rainfall, dirt, environmental conditions, and many other such ever-changing components.

This means that your body cannot build up a resistant to an ever-changing essential oil.

Knowing that therapeutic-grade essential oils can save your life is not always enough. You will have to find the right one(s) for your needs depending on your own body chemistry and sensitivities. Just remember that when it comes to finding the best grade in essential oils, the quality is more important that the price.

Essential Oil Facts

While essential oils will not necessarily turn rancid when it is no longer effective as is common with vegetable oil, essential oils often do lose their therapeutic properties due to old age or poor storage techniques. However, you can increase the likelihood that your favorite essential oil will lose its power by following a few easy steps.

First, you will want to ensure you purchase the right essential oils. Not all essential oils are created equally. In fact, finding top of the line essential oils will generally take you away from popular mass merchandisers. This is not to say you will not find a great essential oil from a local retailer specializing in groceries, but the chances are fairly good you will need to shop somewhere specializing in high quality essential oils.

Purchase essential oils that come in a dark glass bottle or container. Essential oils are extremely sensitive to light as well as heat. Dark bottles have been used for centuries when it comes to storing essential oils for a variety of reasons.

One reason people use glass bottle in the first place is that many pure, concentrated essential oils will eat away at other materials such as plastic. When this residue gets into your essential oil, your essential oil will not be as effective. So to increase the life expectancy and to protect the potency, you should always use the right container from the start.

Another important rule of thumb is to not purchase essential oils that come with a built in dropper that contains a rubber tip. Again, the essential oil will cause that rubber tip to “melt” into your essential oils ruining a good essential oil.

Also keep in mind that essential oils DO have a shelf life. Be sure you know when that essential oil on sale was added to the shelf. You want only the best when it comes to your essential oils!

Aromatherapy Essentials

If you are new to aromatherapy or an old pro, you are aware that aromatherapy is not as easy as having great smells and aromas surrounding you. Having the best essential oils is vital, and when you have the highest quality, you will reap the full benefits of the essential oils you purchase.

Unfortunately, many companies are more interested in making a quick sale. Instead of quality, some of those company go for “cheap”. So yes, maybe you will save a few dollars, but you are not receiving many, or any in some cases, of the benefits associated with the aromatherapy in question.

Basil – Often considered aromatherapy for men, basil is a powerful, licorice-like essential oil. Used for colds, bronchitis, coughs, insect bites, as an insect repellent, sinusitis, rheumatism, exhaustion, flatulence, gout, flu, and more, basil is a powerful, sweet herb that can benefit anyone’s life – regardless of gender. Getting basil in your diet is easy… simply add basil to your dishes or meals!

Sandalwood – Few people dislike the fragrance of sandalwood. This is a wonderfully delicate aroma combining both a floral aroma and a woodsy aroma. Perfect for treating dry skin, depression, bronchitis, chapped skin, scars, stress, sensitive skin, stretch marks, laryngitis, oily skin, and more, you will find that sandalwood enhances life while smelling absolutely wonderful. Try adding sandalwood essential oil to your lotion for a wonderful lotion that will benefit your life.

Cinnamon – Few people do not recognize this unique aroma. Cinnamon is used for baking, cleaners, and other applications, but cinnamon has actually had a rich part of our history. Many people do not realize cinnamon is more than just a spicy smell. For instance, cinnamon can treat lice, flatulence, constipation, low blood pressure, high blood sugar, stress, and much more.

Aromatherapy essentials are a vital part of our daily life. So they next time you eat a favorite dish, maybe you are actually getting more than you realized.

Aromatherapy & Alternative Therapies

More and more people are choosing to harness the power of alternative therapies in their regimen for a health, pain-free life. Whether adding to conventional medicine or going all out alternative, people are finding the middle ground fitting their needs and desires. Of course, no one way is completely correct for everyone. Yes, you will find your own preference based on a mix of personal experience and information.

Aromatherapy is an increasingly popular form of alternative therapy. By combining the power of our nose with pure herbs, a sense of well-being can occur in many people. But which aromatherapy is right for you and your needs?

Many people will choose a popular type such as lavender, rose, or orange. Other people will choose a popular blend of essences such as cinnamon and apple. The type you purchase will depend on your own preference.

Is one better than the other? Not necessarily!

How “good” aromatherapy works depends on the grade of essential oils used in the mixture. Using only the finest in pure essential oils is extremely important. Yes, oils can go rancid and that is one reason you will find that the finest of pure essential oils are contained within dark, glass bottles.

What is the best aromatherapy on the market today?

There are many essential oils popular with oodles of individuals across the globe. What is popular will depend a great deal on your location, religion, and culture. For me, vanilla anything is great, but having lavender around just in case of added stress is a wonderful idea.

Kelly’s Health provides you with an avenue for shopping for your favorite essential oils and mixtures utilized in aromatherapy. You will discover that you get more for less… and the customer service provides you with the assistance you need to get the product that is just right for you.

Body Energy & Essential Oils Therapy

Choosing the right essential oils therapy for your lifestyle is not too difficult these days thanks to the addition of the internet. You will discover a whole new world of possibilities simply by searching through a variety of search engines such as Google or Yahoo. But knowing what is right for you is going to go a long way in ensuring you get your money’s worth each time.

Many people believe in the energies located within every living creature. When our energies are low we are more susceptible to illness, disease, or even death; when our energies are high we feel better and live a healthier life.

A cup of coffee in the morning can lower your body energy. When you lower your body energy enough, you will find you feel poorly and can easily get sick. But knowing how to raise your energies will actually counteract the negative energies we face on a regular basis.

First, did you know that the human body has a measured energy of around 62-68 MHz when healthy? People with a common cold have an energy level around 58MHz. Simple changes in the body’s energy goes a long way.

Essential oil therapy either alone or included with meditation or prayer can raise your body energy. For instance, rose energy is the highest measured at around 320 MHz. Lavender, a popular essential oil, measures around 118 MHz.

Positive thoughts and negative thoughts also have an affect on the body energy….

Anointment is a common practice with many religions dating back centuries. Generally, anointment is combined with prayer and an essential oil. This anointment was actually raising the body’s energy leading to a pure mind and body capable of fighting illness and disease.

Body energy is a big part of our lives, and the right essential oils therapy can improve our mind and body.

Knowing your Aromatherapy

Few things are as popular these days as alternative therapies for what ails us. Whether fighting the common cold or looking to battle cancer, more and more individuals are choosing alternative means of treatment. Aromatherapy just happens to be one of those “alternative therapies” that more people find work with their hectic lifestyle.

Imagine getting relief from burning a candle for your depression rather than taking the popular anti-depressants on the market today. Hmm, weigh the benefits of natural smells versus chemicals, and passive techniques versus aggressive measures. Aromatherapy is popular and for very good reason.

Kelly’s Health understands that you have questions. The good news is that Kelly’s Health LOVES questions!

When you need answers concerning your aromatherapy, essential oils, beauty products, or other types of alternative therapies, Kelly’s Health wants to keep you informed. While we are not medical professionals, we are a caring bunch of people who understand firsthand the need for education on the aromatherapy techniques and information available today.

What is great about the internet is that it is chalked full of information. But that can be confusing. There are so many ideas and opinions that finding the truth can be difficult.

When you do find conflicting information, remember, the line between right and wrong can be all a matter of opinion. Maybe lavender essential oil didn’t work for one person, but that does NOT necessarily mean it will not work for you.

Maybe lavender does nothing for you – personal experience. You may find that vanilla or orange essence may do even more than it does for others. Aromatherapy and essential oils have a lot to do with body chemistry.

So remember the next time you are thinking of trying a new essential oil… what works for one person is not going to work for everyone. But that does not mean your solution is not out there.

Choosing the Right Essential Oils

Whether you prefer a traditional essential oil or your own mixture, you will want to ensure that your essential oils stay looking, smelling, and doing the best job possible. There are popular choices such as lavender, but there are also popular proprietary blends such as “Child Calm ”. Whichever you choose, knowing how to get the right mixture is essential!

The first step is to know the benefits you are wanting. Many people even choose to a popular aroma instead of the benefits. The most popular of these are lavender and tea tree oil. Lavender smells wonderful promoting spirit and mental clarity while tea tree oil is generally not as popular in the aroma department having a solid, often harsh smell.

When choosing the best essential oils, you will want to ensure that they stay in the best condition possible. There are many ways to ensure the integrity of your essential oils.

~ Keep your essential oils in a dry, dark environment. You will discover that you have your essential oils longer when they are not exposed to sunlight. This is one reason essential oils often come in dark bottles. If making your own mixtures, you can purchase bottles that are dark and nonporous such as glass.

~ Essential oils have a certain odor. If you purchase an essential oil that does not smell “right”, you will want to discard the essential oil or return for a refund. While essential oils do not commonly go bad, the carrier oils CAN go rancid. This will diminish the benefits of the essential oils and make them smell nasty.

~ Purchasing pure essential oils made in the United Stated will ensure the purity and integrity of the essential oils or mixtures. The FDA ensures that everything in that essential oil whether the oil itself, the carrier oil, or fillers or additives are disclosed. This keeps you and your family safe.

Exploring Carrier Oils

Derived from a plant, the fatty, vegetable oil that is often referred to as a carrier oil to those fond of aromatherapy and essential oils. Pure essential oils can be extremely hostile to our bodies, even on the outside acting as an irritant or even worse, and this is where the carrier oil comes into play!

A few drops of essential oil can be added to a carrier oil to dilute the concentrated aromatic. This is going to be beneficial because it will be safer for your usage while allowing you to get more from your aromatics or essential oils.

There are numerous types of carrier oils on the market today. The majority of the oils available will be a great benefit to you and your lifestyle promoting health and safety.

When it comes to carrier oils, there are generally three main types: vegetable, fixed, and based. Not all carrier oils are vegetable. For instance, emu oil and many fish oils are considered to be fixed/based oils. However, the majority of carrier oils used for aromatic reasons are best kept at vegetable oil.

It is important to keep in mind that some carrier oils will not be odorless. There are some of these carrier oils with light scents leftover from the plant. A carrier oil made from roses may have a faint scent of roses.

Believe it or not, carrier oil can go rancid. If you find one that has a strong smell, chances are bad it is rancid and should be discarded immediately. The rancidness will have a direct affect on how your aromatherapy affects you!

Having the right carrier oils for your essential oil is vital. With the right one, you will appreciate your essential oils for longer reaping the benefits of sweet or musty smells.

What type of carrier oils do you use? Why is that your choice?

Keeping Those Essential Oils Safe

There are many tips and hints when it comes to aromatherapy and essential oils. While some essential oils are meant to be placed directly on the skin, other types are mean to be enjoyed via other senses. The type of essential oils you purchase will dictate how that substance is used.

There are many types of carriers, but the safest will be a vegetable oil carrier. Olive oil is exceptionally popular because of its neutral properties and natural resistance to allergens many people may suffer from other types of carriers.

Knowing how to keep those essential oils in good working order is going to benefit you and your budget. Take a look at a few tips when it comes to essential oils!

Store those essential oils in a cool, dark location such as a cabinet or drawer. Heat and direct sunlight will often ruin the essential oils so it is important to keep out of direct sun. The temperature will need to be cool without being excessively cold or hot.

Always ready the label looking for cautions and warnings. Be sure to follow those cautions or warnings to insure you do not harm yourself, others, or other surfaces. If you do not see a label, you can use the internet!

Never, under any circumstances, consume the essential oils in questions. Essential oils are not intended for consumption. Only consume or cook with oils that have been approved for human consumption.

Before applying the essential oil, test a piece on a part of your skin such as a part of the leg or foot. Some allergic reactions can cause irritation to the skin or worse. If itching, burning, redness, or irritation occurs, stop the use of that oil immediately!
On a closing note, if you are pregnant, be cautious with the type of essential oils you use. There are some substances you should avoid even in essential oils while pregnant
