Health Tips for College Students
Did you know that college can be harmful to your health? Often times, student never have enough time in a day to do everything that needs to be done. This usually means that students will sleep less and exercise less, and stress more. All of these work together to create a poor lifestyle where their health is at risk.
You can easily turn that unhealthy lifestyle around, even if you live on campus. You do not have to try to be overly healthy all at once. Instead you can slowly introduce healthy pieces and parts into your life one at a time.
What are some health tips for college students that are easy and cheap?
-Make sure you sleep. When you started college you more than likely saw a drastic change in your sleep schedule. You sleep far less than your body should. Sleep is the number one priority in a college student's life, but, unfortunately, it is usually at the far end of the list. Sleep between 8-10 hours a night and try to sleep on a regular schedule. If you cannot sleep this much in one time, try to take periodic naps throughout the day.
-Eat well. Try to avoid eating late at night. And ALWAYS eat breakfast in the morning. Something as simple as a small cup of yogurt or a bowl of cereal are both good breakfasts. Your body needs enough calories every day. Not getting enough calories is just as bad as overeating calories. It can even be worse. If you need help on eating well, talk to a nutritionist or a counselor.
-Drink plenty of water. Drinking plenty of water each day is extremely important. Your body needs water in order to function and survive. This does not mean drink things with water in it, it means drink pure water. Bring a water bottle with you everywhere you go and drink, drink, drink. Your body needs its fuel.
