Health Insurance

Recent studies show that approximately 46 million Americans do not have health insurance. With the economy constantly fluctuating, many people are trying to find work after losing their job. Unfortunately, many people find that because they no longer have a job, they do not have health insurance either.

The United Stated does not have universal health coverage. This leaves many Americans without jobs with no health insurance for months until they find a job. In addition, individuals have to wait a certain period of time before their employer even offers them health insurance before they have coverage. This is a dilemma that many people are forced to face.

There are a few options Kelly's Health wants you to know about that can hold you over until you have proper health insurance...

Short term medical insurance offers medical insurance for a short period of time. This is a practical solution that can last 1 month to 12 months. Your health, age, and gender will affect your monthly fee.

Catastrophic health insurance is what its name means: it covers catastrophic events that may require hospitalization. Generally, this is only available to those who have no or few preexisting conditions. This option is a bit pricier than short term insurance. You will more than likely need to pay a deductible if you need to be hospitalized.

Local clinics can be a lifesaver. If you are on a very strict and tight budget, you will want to do your research, call around, and ask questions. You pay as you go, only receiving the coverage that you need. Local clinics can be pricey as well; however, many have insurance and cash rates which will allow you to save money.
