One thing most of us could do a bit more of is exercise. Perhaps running a marathon is great for cardiovascular health, but the truth is that most of us get exhausted just watching a marathon or triathlon. But there are ways for you to stretch those muscles and get a nice workout without even leaving your property….

Healthy lifestyles translate to a healthier body, mind, and life. Nothing is better than healthy eating and exercise to improve the quality of life.

Take a few of these simple but healthy exercises…

Clean house!

While many of us do not enjoy cleaning house, a clean house is amazing. You will feel better, the house will be fresh, and you will be getting exercise. Turn on some favorite music, grab the mop, and get to work. Your body and mind will definitely appreciate the workout. This is great for adults and kids.

Plant a garden!

A garden is amazing. Gardens will ensure you get healthy, fresh foods you grew yourself. But there are many other reasons gardening is fun. You will be moving, working, and playing all at the same time. This will also help you get some vitamin D if you happen to be an indoors type of person.

Move while you sit!

Amazingly, many exercises can be turned into a sitting exercise. While watching television or browsing the internet, try lifting your arms repeatedly or even lift the legs. You will discover it is easy to live a healthy lifestyle when you are moving. Even if you are sitting, you can get the exercise you need. Nothing is better for you or your future.

Choosing Healthy Face Makeup

When it comes to choosing the best for our lives, we often pick and choose what matters most. More people definitely choose high quality face makeup because the face is one location on our bodies where we want to look our best. Looking great ensures we feel even better!

Face makeup generally includes:
  • Shimmering powders,
  • Concealer sticks,
  • Foundation sticks,
  • Liquid makeup,
  • And much more!
Of course, you can find oodles of brands and types of face makeup. The trick is often searching for the one(s) that work best for your needs. There are numerous qualities you may want to search for when looking for healthy face makeup…

Hypoallergenic – This is a phrase that is used too loosely in many situations. The term “hypoallergenic” is not regulated by the FDA or any other organization. However, you will learn which companies really are going to mean what they say.

Vitamins – Having fame makeup with vitamins ensures that you have a healthy substance for your life. Some of the popular vitamins found in face makeup may be vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, lecithin, panthenol, and much more!

Water-base or Oil-base – Preferring a water-based foundation ensure you get a natural and healthy coverage that will nourish the skin rather than clog pores. Oil-based face makeup tends to be harsher than the natural look and feel of water-based face makeup.

Vitamins nourish the face from the outside and works its way in. You will definitely appreciate all the exceptional pluses associated with Kelly’s Health manufacturer of the week: Aira Cosmetics!

When you choose Kelly’s Health for your face makeup, you are making a smart decision that will serve you well today and in the future. Once you experience our promise of high quality products coupled with professional and friendly customer service, you will never trust your needs to another.

Treating Diaper Rash

Diaper rash is often considered a normal part of being a baby. But as a parent, you can fight diaper rash efficiently and amazingly. You have probably heard this before, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. It is a lot easier on your child if you prevent diaper rash by making the bum a place where that icky stuff does not want to be.

The majority of diaper rash is simply skin irritation with a touch of bacteria or yeast. One natural way of fighting diaper rash is to ensure that your baby or infant is never left sitting in a soiled or wet diaper. Prolonged moisture against the skin will break down the skin causing a nasty diaper rash. However, a diaper rash can also be caused by diaper friction against the skin. Allergic reaction can also cause diaper rash which means keeping an eye on foods, detergents, and soaps used on the infant or baby.

So how can you treat diaper rash efficiently, quickly, and safely?

The number one rule is keep ‘em dry! This means changing often…

One natural way of fighting diaper rash is to allow your child to go naked. Nothing is as cute as a baby’s bum. Let that baby’s bum run around the house, crawl around the house, or simply place the infant bum up on your knees. The air will actually help dry out the bottom helping fight diaper rash before it happens.

There are many creams, ointments, and old wives tales associated with preventing diaper rash. Zinc oxide is the most popular choice of ingredients when it comes to these creams and ointments. Did you know that zinc oxide may contain lead? Ick! This is definitely a case of the cure being worse than the illness…

For me, I prefer Babees Bum. This is an all natural ointment found at Kelly’s Health. Exceptionally perfect for preventing and treating diaper rash.

Treating and Preventing Ear Infections

Otitis Media with Effusion is another term for ear infection. Often considered a natural and inevitable occurrence in infants and child, ear infections cause discomfort and other unpleasant symptoms. However, you do not have to treat most ear infection with antibiotics, which happens to be a common practice.

Treating ear infections with antibiotics is not necessary in up to 97% of cases. Overuse of antibiotics can reduce your natural resistance to many bacteria. Therefore, if you can avoid antibiotics, avoid them!

Ear infections are going to cause more discomfort at night or directly upon rising from a laying position. Most ear infections are caused by water buildup in the middle ear. This means that when your child changes positions, your child is disturbing that water level within the ear.

So how can you avoid and/or treat ear infections?

First, if you do not know the severity of the ear infection, you should always err on the side of caution and take your child to his or her doctor or caregiver. However, just because your child tugs at his or her ear does not mean your child has an infection. If your child has a fever, visit your doctor immediately.

Never stick anything in the ear. This means anything. No bobby pins, paper, or even cotton swabs. While you may be thinking that you are cleaning the ear, you are actually pushing that waxy buildup further into the ear – not a good thing!

If you use an ear rinse, be sure you are instructed by your physician on how to use that ear rinse.

Keep ears warm in the winter with a cap or little ear muffs – how cute!

Finally, stock up on Kids Ear Relief by Kopec Naturals for those unexpected emergencies!

Health Tips for College Students

College can be detrimental to your health! Students often never have enough hours in the day to do everything that needs to be done. This often translates to poor eating habits coupled with less exercise, sleep deprivation, and oodles of stress. All these combined makes for a poor lifestyle where your health is comprised.

Campus life can be turned healthy with a little work. You do not have to start all at once, but slowly integrate a few ideas into your lifestyle. You can stay healthy and get a degree!

What are a few health tips for college students that can be incorporated easily and affordably?

Sleep – The number one change any college student can make is to get enough sleep. Sleep should be at the top of any college student’s priority list. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Sleep 8 to 10 hours per night, and set this sleep time on a regular schedule. If you cannot get that much sleep at one time, try to schedule small naps during the day.

Eat sensibly – Avoid late night snacking and eating. In addition, ALWAYS eat breakfast. A bowl or cereal or even a small thing of yogurt can constitute a good breakfast. You need to eat enough calories per day as well. Too few calories is as unhealthy as too many calories. If you need help learning how to eat, you can find a counselor or nutritional expert.

Drink water – Drinking enough water is important. This does not mean drink things that have water! Drink bottled water if you are always on the go. Water is your fuel, and as a college student, you need all the fuel you can get.

When it comes to staying healthy, health tips for college students work with the student’s own assets to discover a lifestyle that will make college a dream come true.

Exercising You Memory & Mind

Your brain is actually a growing and learning organ. By interacting with the world around you, your brain uses action and perception as a learning tool. Stimulation of your mental acuity will actually increase brain function protecting against cognitive dysfunction often thought to be a natural sign of aging.

As a living and growing organ, the human brain is continually rewiring and adapting itself growing new neurons. Disease can cause severe mental decline, but age-related decline in motor skills and memory are most often due to inactivity and stimulation.

Use it or lose it!

Exercising your memory and mind can be as simple as getting more physical activity into your life. Research has been completed showing that those who got adequate physical activity were actually less likely to develop Alzheimer’s and dementia. The more exercise you get, the better he protection.

Physical exercise can also act as a natural anti-depressant. Walking is of course the easiest, cheapest, and most beneficial of physical activities anyone can do regardless of age. If you cannot walk due to physical disabilities, there are other options as well. Any type of cardio-vascular exercise will get the blood flowing. This means your brain will actually get more blood. This is good stuff!

Intellectual activity is important too!

Staying intellectually active can be as simple as doing puzzles, reading a book, playing cards, or even playing a favorite musical instrument. You can stay healthy physically as well as mentally staving off the “natural” signs of aging.

Teen Skincare Tips

Puberty plays havoc on many systems within the body as we are changing from child to adult. Proper skincare is essential because you are fighting acne, oily skin, dry skin, or a combination of skins that make it difficult to find that perfect skincare system. There are some skincare tips that will ensure your face is as beautiful as you dreamed, and generally, these skincare tips do not cost an arm and a leg.

Our skin products a natural oil called sebum. The production of sebum starts kicking into overdrive when we all reach puberty. Unfortunately, sebum can clog pores and cause skin irritation, oily skin, and/or acne. While you cannot stop your production of sebum, you can help fight the acne that plagues many teens as they reach puberty.

Wash your face twice a day. Now, when I say wash your face, I do NOT mean scrub off the top layer of skin. You need to be gentle. Wash in circular motions. If you have trouble skin, you can purchase a mild cleanser or soap made for the skin that can help you with your skincare. Do not always trust body soap to get the job done.

When you do get pimples, do NOT pop them! Pimples are a form of isolated infection forming into a blackhead or whitehead. When you pop a pimple, you can spread that infection to more areas or even push the infection further into your face which can cause swelling, redness, and irritation, Most pimples will go away on their own, but you will find ways to fight pimples too!

If you wear makeup, remove that makeup nightly with a good makeup remover. In addition, look for makeup that says “nonacnegenic” or “noncomedogenic”. You will also want to replace all makeup within 6 months. However, if the makeup starts looking funny or smelling “off”, you should toss that makeup and purchase new makeup or cosmetics.
